Seventh-seeded Iga Swiatek of Poland breezed to a 6-2, 6-0 victory against No. 4 seed Anett Kontaveit of Estonia to win the Qatar TotalEnergies Open title Saturday in Doha.

Swiatek won the last 10 games, finishing the match in just 64 minutes. She struck five aces and saved six of seven break points. Kontaveit only won 42 percent (14 of 33) of her first-service points.

It is the fourth career WTA title for the 2020 French Open champion and her first since the Italian Open in May 2021. The 20-year-old Swiatek improved to 3-2 head-to-head against Kontaveit.

Sixth-seeded Sloane Stephens of the United States is through to her first WTA final in 3 1/2 years after her semifinal opponent at Guadalajara, Mexico, retired before the third set.

Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya won the first set 6-3, then led 3-0 with two service breaks to start the second set. Stephens rallied to win the set 7-5 before Kalinskaya had to stop due to a back injury.

Stephens’ opponent in the title match will be the Czech Republic’s Marie Bouzkova, who got past China’s Qiang Wang 6-3, 6-3. Bouzkova is looking for her first career WTA Tour title, having lost her prior two finals in 2020 at Monterrey, Mexico, and 2021 at Phillip Island, Australia.
