Serena Williams caused a stir on Tuesday morning with a seven-word post over social media.

“I’m ready to hit some balls again,” she wrote on Twitter.

It is not immediately known if Williams is planning a comeback to the professional ranks or just contemplating a friendly game of tennis.

Williams, 42, last competed during the 2022 U.S. Open. She welcomed her second child, Adira River Ohanian, in August 2023.

Williams owns 23 career Grand Slam women’s singles titles, the second-highest total in history, trailing only the 24 of Australia’s Margaret Court.
