WNCAAB: Women’s Top 25 roundup: Jacy Sheldon scores big for No. 13 Ohio State

Jacy Sheldon topped the 30-point mark for the second straight game as No. 13 Ohio State beat visiting Belmont 84-55 on Friday in Columbus, Ohio.

Sheldon finished with 31 points on 12-of-18 shooting after scoring 30 on Monday in a loss to No. 2 UCLA. The Buckeyes (10-2) also got 15 points from Celeste Taylor and 10 points from Rikki Harris on Friday.

Tessa Miller powered Belmont (7-4) with 15 points, while Kendal Cheesman had 13 points.

Ohio State shot 12-of-26 from 3-point range, and five of those makes from deep came courtesy of Sheldon. The Buckeyes also turned 23 Belmont turnovers into 21 points.

No. 16 Indiana 84, Bowling Green 35

Sara Scalia scored a season-best 32 points as the Hoosiers raced away from the visiting Falcons in Bloomington, Ind.

Scalia made 8-of-11 3-pointers to help Indiana (10-1) win its ninth straight game. Mackenzie Holmes added 10 points and six rebounds. Amy Velasco had 14 points for Bowling Green (6-4).

Indiana never trailed in a wire-to-wire victory. The Hoosiers made 14 of 25 shots from behind the arc while Bowling Green went 0-for-11 from deep range. Indiana outscored the Falcons 16-2 on fast breaks.

No. 20 Gonzaga 67, New Mexico 56

Yvonne Ejim scored 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting to help the host Bulldogs defeat the Lobos in Spokane, Wash.

Gonzaga (13-2) also got 14 points from Bryanna Maxwell and 12 points from Kaylynne Truong. Viane Cumber led New Mexico (9-4) with 17 points and seven rebounds.

The Lobos led by four points in the first quarter before falling behind by as many as 15. Gonzaga had 21 assists on 25 made baskets and scored 17 points off 15 New Mexico turnovers.

No. 25 TCU 87, Mount St. Mary’s 34

Sedona Prince had 22 points, 15 rebounds and six assists as the Horned Frogs routed the visiting Mountaineers in Fort Worth, Texas.

Prince shot 10 of 12 from the floor as TCU (13-0) remained unbeaten. Madison Conner added 21 points while Agnes Emma-Nnopu chipped in 15 points and 10 boards for the Horned Frogs. Jessica Tomasetti paced the Mount (3-8) with 12 points and seven rebounds.

TCU shot 59.4 percent from the floor, had 29 assists on 38 made baskets, and outscored the Mount 46-6 in the paint.
