WNCAAB: Ohio State jumps to No. 2 behind South Carolina

Ohio State climbed three spots to No. 2 behind unbeaten South Carolina in the Associated Press Top 25 women’s college basketball poll released Monday.

The Buckeyes (21-3) matched their best ranking in school history after extending their winning streak to 11 games with victories last week at Minnesota and Michigan State.

The top-ranked Gamecocks (23-0) once again received all 35 first-place ballots after crushing Missouri and then-No. 11 UConn by a combined 66 points.

Stanford (22-3), Iowa (22-3) and Texas (22-3) round out the top five. The Hawkeyes were No. 2 last week before an 82-79 setback at Nebraska on Sunday despite 31 points from Caitlin Clark.

No. 6 North Carolina State (21-3) is followed by Kansas State (21-3), Colorado (20-4), UCLA (19-4) and Southern California (17-4).

No new teams entered the poll this week.
