The Los Angeles Sparks signed star forward Dearica Hamby to a contract extension through the 2025 season.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team on Thursday.
Hamby, 30, is a former WNBA champion, a two-time All-Star and two-time Sixth Woman of the Year.
She is averaging 20.0 points, 11.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 12 games (all starts) this season.
“I’m grateful for finding a home in LA with an ownership group and organization that believes in me and has been nothing but supportive since the day I got here,” Hamby said. “I look forward to continuing to build with my teammates and getting the Sparks back to the standard that has been historically set.”
Hamby leads the WNBA with 10 double-doubles this season and is shooting 48.0 percent from 3-point range.
“I’m so excited about Dearica’s extension. She has been an incredible addition to our team and locker room since her arrival,” head coach Curt Miller said. “She is enjoying a fantastic year and leading our young team on and off the court. She has an outstanding motor and brings us energy each day.”
Hamby has career averages of 9.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 294 games (116 starts) with the San Antonio Stars (2015-17), Las Vegas Aces (2018-22) and Sparks. She was a first-round draft pick (sixth overall) in 2015.
