New York Liberty general manager Jonathan Kolb is the 2023 WNBA Basketball Executive of the Year.

The Liberty posted the best regular-season record in franchise history at 32-8 following a 16-20 campaign in 2022.

New York also won the 2023 WNBA Commissioner’s Cup championship and earned the No. 2 seed for the playoffs.

Kolb is the first Liberty executive to win the award, voted on by the league’s 12 general managers.

His achievements this year included signing free agents Breanna Stewart and Courtney Vandersloot, both former WNBA champions.

Dallas Wings CEO Greg Bibb finished second in the voting, announced Thursday. Connecticut Sun GM Darius Taylor placed third.
