Miami Heat great Dwyane Wade is joining the ownership group of his hometown Chicago Sky, he announced Friday.

The three-time NBA champion and 13-time All-Star will be inducted into the Hall of Fame next month.

“It’s an incredible feeling being on this side of history,” Wade posted on Twitter. “To see growth, on the business side, for something that I’ve been passionate about my whole life is an amazing feeling. It’s official! This is for the home team — literally.”

Wade’s exact ownership percentage was not disclosed. His investment is subject to approval by the WNBA’s board of governors.

Wade, 41, has also joined the ownership groups for the NBA’s Utah Jazz and the MLS club Real Salt Lake since retiring from the NBA in 2019.

He joins other high-profile investors in the women’s basketball league, including Tom Brady (Las Vegas Aces), Alex Rodriguez (Minnesota Lynx) and Magic Johnson (Los Angeles Sparks).
