In a matchup of winless UFL teams, the host Houston Roughnecks recovered a late fumble to finish off the Arlington Renegades 17-9 on Sunday.

With 18 seconds left in the game and the Renegades (0-4) at the Roughnecks’ 39-yard line, quarterback Luis Perez was sacked by Chris Odom, who forced a fumble that was recovered by teammate Gabriel Sewell Jr.

After the teams traded first-half field goals, the Roughnecks (1-3) went ahead to stay on quarterback Reid Stinnett’s 3-yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Butler late in the half. Braedon Bowman added a two-point conversion reception to make it 11-3.

Stinnett finished 18-for-28 passing for 191 yards, while Mark Thompson finished with 34 rushing yards, including a 10-yard touchdown run.

For the Renegades, Perez completed 15 of 28 passes for 144 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Deontay Burnett hauled in four catches for 58 yards, including a 7-yard touchdown. On the defensive side, Jalen Redmond recorded two sacks.
