Jorge Masvidal’s welterweight bout versus Leon Edwards next month has been called off, UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell told ESPN on Wednesday.

Masvidal (35-15) sustained an undisclosed injury and was forced to withdraw from the UFC 269 event on Dec. 11 in Las Vegas. It is not immediately known when Masvidal, who turns 37 on Friday, will be able to return from injury.

As for Edwards (19-3), the 30-year-old Englishman’s involvement on the card is up in the air.

Masvidal has been idle since April, when he was knocked out by Kamaru Usman in UFC 261.
