Hall of Fame fighter Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone announced Tuesday that he is coming out of retirement at age 41 to chase a milestone.

Cerrone made 48 combined fights in the UFC and WEC promotions from 2007 through July 2022, when he called it quits amid a six-fight losing streak.

“I want to go back and get two more fights,” Cerrone said Tuesday in a video posted to Instagram. “… The No. 50 … has been sitting on my mind for a while.”

In addition to “chasing greatness,” Cerrone’s post said he also wants the most wins in UFC history, most finishes and most bonuses.

Cerrone currently ranks third in UFC history with 38 fights and tied for second with 23 wins, per MMAjunkie.com.

He was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2023.
