Kingston Heath Golf Club, in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, was named the host venue for the 2028 Presidents Cup on Monday.

The club will host its first Presidents Cup, but it’s already staged top-tier events, including seven Australian Opens, two Australian Masters and the 2016 World Cup of Golf. Situated on the Melbourne Sandbelt, the course regularly ranks among the best in Australia.

The Australian metropolis hosted the Presidents Cup in 1998, 2011 and 2019 at Royal Melbourne Golf Club, and last year the PGA Tour announced the competition would return to the city in 2028 and 2040, with courses to be announced at a later date.

“The Sandbelt region is home to some of the game’s most iconic venues, and Kingston Heath has proven to be a world-class host for a number of golf’s biggest tournaments,” Matt Rapp, the PGA Tour’s senior vice president of championship management, said in a statement. “We are looking forward to contesting an incredible Presidents Cup that Australians can take tremendous pride in, showcasing Kingston Heath to golf fans around the world.”

The team competition pits the United States against the International team — made up of non-American, non-European players — every two years.

The United States defeated the International team 17 1/2-12 1/2 last September at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C. to improve to 12-1-1 in the Presidents Cup all-time. Venues for future Presidents Cups are now confirmed through 2030:

–2024: Royal Montreal Golf Club, Montreal
–2026: Medinah Country Club, Medinah, Ill.
–2028: Kingston Heath Golf Club, Melbourne, Australia
–2030: Bellerive Country Club, St. Louis, Mo.
