PGA: Mackenzie Hughes, Kevin Kisner WD from Travelers Championship

Mackenzie Hughes and Kevin Kisner both withdrew from the Travelers Championship on Thursday due to illness.

Hughes withdrew after completing his first round at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. He had a triple-bogey on No. 7 and double-bogey on No. 15 en route to finishing at 6-over 76.

The 32-year-old Canadian is 68th in the Official World Golf Ranking and has two career wins on the PGA Tour. He captured The RSM Classic in November 2016 and the Sanderson Farms Championship in October 2022.

Kisner withdrew after reaching the turn at 7 over. Starting on the back nine, he carded a double-bogey at No. 13 and a triple-bogey at No. 17.

Kisner, 39, is ranked 74th in the world and has won four times on the PGA Tour. His most recent title came at the Wyndham Championship in 2021.
