Spacestation Gaming booked a spot in the Overwatch Champions Series North American Stage 1 grand final on Saturday, edging Team Liquid 3-2 in the upper bracket final.

Spacestation will face the winner of Sunday’s lower bracket final between Liquid and NTMR. The grand final will be played after the lower bracket final.

The $100,000 tournament, played online, featured eight teams. The two finalists will earn Champions Clash berths. The two teams that didn’t make the double-elimination playoffs, Shikigami and Amplify, will proceed to promotion/relegation for Stage 2.

Saturday began with the lower bracket semifinal, where NTMR jumped to a quick 2-0 lead on Timeless (winning 2-0 on Samoa Control and 3-2 on Dorado Escort) before falling 3-1 on Suravasa Flashpoint. But NTMR rebounded to take Esparanca Push, 79.55m-79.54m.

In the upper bracket final, Spacestation appeared headed for an easy go of it, winning 2-0 on Nepal Control and 3-2 on Suravasa Flashpoint. But Liquid answered with a 2-1 win on Route 66 Escort and a 112.58m-45.86m victory on Esparanca Push. But Spacestation responded themselves with a 1-0 win on Dorado Escort to take the final map and the match.
