OVERWATCH: Hangzhou Spark announce Changgoon as coach

The Hangzhou Spark announced Chang-geun “Changgoon” Park will serve as their head coach for the 2022 season.

Changgoon, a 31-year-old South Korean, previously coached both the London Spitfire and Seoul Dynasty in the Overwatch League.

The Spark also formally announced former Overwatch players Tsung-yu “Xiao Gui” Huang and Jin-hyuk “Miro” Gong were added to the team as assistant coaches. Xiao Gui represented Team Taiwan in the Overwatch World Cup, while Miro previously played for the Seoul Dynasty.

The Spark also announced the promotions of Li “Pineapple” Zhuo and Jun “AlphaYi” Kim to the main roster from the club’s Overwatch Contenders academy team, Bilibili Gaming.

This past season, the Spark failed to get past the first round of play-ins and finished 2021 with a 7-9 record, ranking fifth in the East Region.
