Gentle Mates Alpine downed G2 Stride 4-2 on Sunday in the grand final of the 2024 Rocket League Championship Series’ Major 1.

It was a quick start for Gentle Mates Alpine, who won 1-0 at Mannfield (Night), 3-2 in overtime at Forbidden Temple and 2-1 in overtime at DFH Stadium to set put themselves in prime position to complete a sweep.

But G2 Stride stayed alive with a 4-0 shutout at Utopia Coliseum (Dusk), then prevailed 4-2 at Aquadome (Salty Shallows). However, the comeback bid came to a halt when Gentle Mates pulled out a 2-1 win at Neo Tokyo to seal the seven-match series.

In the final match, France’s Enzo “Seikoo” Grondein recorded both of Gentle Mates Alpine’s goals. Landon “BeastMode” Konerman scored for G2.

Gentle Mates overcame a 3-2 deficit to knock off Karmine Corp in seven matches in the semifinals. G2 Stride also went the distance with Team Vitality in the semifinals, watching a 3-1 advantage disappear before winning 1-0 in overtime at Champions Field.
