Expansion club Bay FC flipped veteran defender Ellie Jean to Racing Louisville on Monday for $40,000 in alternative allocation money.

Bay FC had acquired Jean from NJ/NY Gotham FC in a three-team deal last Tuesday. Louisville was the third team in that deal, as it acquired two picks in the 2024 NWSL Draft from Gotham and sent $130,000 to Bay FC.

“We could not be more excited to add Ellie to our club,” Racing Louisville general manager Ryan Dell said in a news release. “Her experience, professionalism and work ethic will elevate our back line for years to come.”

Jean, 26, made 15 starts among her 32 appearances for Gotham over the past two seasons. She helped the club win its first NWSL title in 2023. She has also played in Europe with PSV Eindhoven.

“I’m so excited to be heading to Louisville,” Jean said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working with everyone involved, including the coaching staff and players, to achieve great things and push this club forward. I will give everything I have to be a great teammate and continue to learn and grow.”
