Angel City FC is creating a performance center that it said Thursday will be the largest dedicated to a National Women’s Soccer League club.

The new team base, formerly the practice facility of the Los Angeles Rams, will undergo what the club said is a multi-million dollar custom remodel of both the 50,000-square-foot interior space and outdoor areas. The nine-acre site is on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, where Angel City has been training since its 2022 inaugural season, and includes a full-size pitch and a half field.

The refurbished Rams site is expected to be ready to use before the 2025 NWSL preseason.

“This is a major milestone in the history of our club,” said Julie Uhrman, Angel City’s co-founder and president. “We are committed to building a championship-level experience for our staff and players. This new dedicated performance center, the largest in the NWSL, lives up to our ambitions, setting a new bar for what professional athletes need to become champions on the pitch and support their needs off the pitch.”

Amenities include a 5,400-square-foot gym; a hydrotherapy area; a medical wing with a rehab area and a private doctor’s office; a playroom for the children of players and staff; and a content creation room. Fresh meals will be prepared on-site.

The Rams moved their practice facility to nearby Woodland Hills this year.
