NHL: Wild D Alex Goligoski signs two-year contract extension

Minnesota Wild defenseman Alex Goligoski signed a two-year, $4 million contract extension that spans through the 2023-24 season, the team announced Wednesday.

Goligoski, 36, has recorded 28 points (two goals, 26 assists), 32 penalty minutes and a team-leading plus-34 rating in 58 games this season.

A Stanley Cup champion with Pittsburgh in 2009, Goligoski has 457 points (85 goals, 372 assists) in 982 career games with the Penguins (2007-11), Dallas Stars (2011-16), Arizona Coyotes (2016-21) and Wild.

Goligoski was selected by Pittsburgh in the second round of the 2004 NHL Draft out of the University of Minnesota.
