The Dallas Stars scored three times in the third period en route to a 5-3 win against the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday.

Roope Hintz, Evgenii Dadonov and Wyatt Johnston each had a goal and an assist for the Stars. Dallas’ Thomas Harley and Matt Duchene also scored, Jason Robertson and Jamie Benn had two assists apiece, and Jake Oettinger made 22 saves.

Dmitri Voronkov, Damon Severson and Sean Kuraly scored while Elvis Merzlikins made 28 saves for the Blue Jackets, who have lost four straight (0-2-2).

Harley opened the scoring 27 seconds into the first period, taking a pass through the slot from Robertson on two-on-one and for a quick strike stick side.

Voronkov’s first NHL goal tied it 1-1 at 4:37 of the first. Kent Johnson sent a backhand pass from low in the right circle to Cole Sillinger on the doorstep. Sillinger skated a few strides away from the net to feed Voronkov, who got his stick on the bouncing puck to send it trickling by Oettinger.

Voronkov, a 23-year-old Russian forward, was playing in his third NHL game.

Severson put Columbus ahead 2-1 at 13:41 of the first when he one-timed a bouncing pass from Adam Fantilli from the left circle.

Hintz deflected Robertson’s shot from the blue line to tie it 2-2 at 5:52 of the second period.

Dallas appeared to take a 3-2 lead midway through the middle frame, but the Blue Jackets challenged for offside, and the call was overturned after video review showed Mason Marchment entered the offensive zone before Duchene carried the puck in.

The Stars got their go-ahead goal at 3-2 at 2:49 of the third period.

Merzlikins made the save on a Ryan Suter shot from the left circle, but the rebound bounced to Duchene on the opposite side, where he had an open net to shoot at with the goalie out of position. It was Duchene’s first tally of the season.

Dadonov scored short side top corner from the right circle to make it 4-2 at 12:39, and Johnston extended it to 5-2 at 16:21 with an empty-net tally.

With Merzlikins still pulled for the extra attacker, Kuraly backhanded a rebound off the end boards glove side at 17:10 to narrow the final margin.
