Teuvo Teravainen scored twice and added two assists, leading the Chicago Blackhawks to a 5-2 victory over the host Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night.

Connor Bedard and Seth Jones each added a goal and two assists, and Philipp Kurashev also scored for Chicago, which halted a two-game skid and won for the first time this season.

Goaltender Petr Mrazek made 36 saves for his fourth career win over the Oilers.

Corey Perry and Leon Draisaitl scored for the Oilers, and Calvin Pickard stopped 15 shots in the loss.

Edmonton has now dropped back-to-back games to open its four-game homestand.

Teravainen gave Chicago a 4-1 lead on a power play at 5:35 of the third period, putting a shot off Oilers’ defenseman Darnell Nurse and past Pickard for his second goal of the season.

Draisaitl cut Chicago’s lead in half, one-timing Connor McDavid’s pass past Mrazek at 10:01 of the third period for his first of the season. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins picked up the second assist — his 700th career point.

Teravainen added his second of the night with 47 seconds remaining in the third on a power play, one-timing Alex Vlasic’s pass past Pickard for his third of the season.

The Blackhawks led 3-1 after 40 minutes.

Perry got the Oilers on the board, tying it 1-1 at 4:55 of the middle frame. He put the rebound of Jeff Skinner’s shot off the skate of Blackhawks defenseman T.J. Brodie and past Mrazek for his first of the season.

Chicago took a 2-1 lead midway through the second period on a power play. Jones put a wrist shot from the point past a screened Pickard for his first of the season in his 800th career NHL game.

Bedard made it 3-1, snapping a wrist shot glove-side past Pickard for his first of the season at 13:58 of the second period.

Kurashev opened the scoring, redirecting Taylor Hall’s shot past Pickard with 4:10 remaining in the opening period for his first goal of the season on his 25th birthday.

Saturday was the first of three meetings between the Oilers and Blackhawks. The teams will meet in Chicago on Jan. 11 and Feb. 5.
