Radek Faksa and Jason Robertson scored in regulation and the Dallas Stars won 3-2 in a shootout against the visiting San Jose Sharks on Saturday night.

Jake Oettinger made 21 saves in regulation and stopped four of seven attempts in the shootout for the Stars, who had lost six of their previous eight (2-3-3).

Matt Duchene and Jamie Benn scored in the shootout for Dallas, which moved two points ahead of the Winnipeg Jets for first place in the Central Division.

William Eklund and Filip Zadina scored, Luke Kunin had two assists and Magnus Chrona made 36 saves in his second NHL start for the Sharks, who have lost six straight.

Eklund gave the Sharks a 1-0 lead at 4:39 of the first.

Jan Rutta’s outlet pass to Kunin spurred a two-on-one breakaway with Eklund. Kunin gave up the puck to Eklund as they crossed the blue line. Eklund elected to take a wrist shot from the right circle that was saved, but he followed up and scored the rebound for his 10th goal of the season.

Faksa tied it at 3:08 of the second period.

Sam Steel brought the puck down the right side on the rush and took a shot from the outside edge of the circle that Chrona slowed. The shot trickled through Chrona’s pads and Faksa pushed the puck across the goal line for his fourth goal of the season.

The Sharks regained the lead 2-1 at 17:08 of the second period.

Zadina spun and shot from the bottom of the right circle. The puck hit the wrist area of Oettinger, popped over his shoulder and hit the back post as it narrowly crossed the goal line, which was confirmed upon review.

The Stars outshot the Sharks 29-11 through two periods, but trailed 2-1 entering the third.

The Stars went on their third power play of the game and Robertson tied it 2-2 with a wrist shot from between the circles at 4:08 of the third period.

Dallas killed an interference penalty on Miro Heiskanen in overtime before heading to the shootout.
