The New York Rangers traded defenseman Nils Lundkvist to the Dallas Stars on Monday in exchange for a 2023 first-round draft pick.

The first-round pick is top-10 protected. The Rangers could also receive a conditional fourth-rounder in the deal.

Lundkvist, 22, is a right-shot defenseman from Sweden selected by the Rangers in the first round (28th overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.

He made his Rangers debut last season, seeing action in 25 games and tallying one goal and three assists.
