The St. Louis Blues are set to place veteran forward and former first-round draft pick Jakub Vrana on waivers, The Athletic reported Monday.
Vrana is off to a disappointing start with just six points (two goals, four assists) and a minus-5 rating in 19 games this season.
The Blues acquired Vrana from the Detroit Red Wings last March in exchange for forward Dylan McLaughlin and a seventh-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft.
A Stanley Cup champion with Washington, the 27-year-old Vrana has recorded 209 points (110 goals, 99 assists) in 365 career games with the Capitals, Red Wings and Blues.
He was selected by Washington with the 13th overall pick of the 2014 NHL Draft.
