Michael Rasmussen scored with 1:07 remaining and the Detroit Red Wings completed a sweep of a three-game West Coast trip by topping the Anaheim Ducks, 3-2, on Sunday.

Moritz Seider’s shot from the right circle bounced off Rasmussen’s skate near the net and past Ducks goalie Lukas Dostal.

Dylan Larkin and Joe Veleno had the other goals for the Red Wings. Alex Lyon, who played in each game of the California journey, made 29 saves as Detroit avenged a home loss to the Ducks last month.

Trevor Zegras scored both goals for Anaheim, which completed an eight-game homestand 1-6-1. Dostal made 25 saves as the Ducks’ winless streak stretched to five games.

After winning a faceoff in Detroit’s zone, the Ducks scored 20 seconds into the game. Zegras tipped in Troy Terry’s shot from the point. Adam Henrique picked up the second assist.

Jakob Silfverberg was called for interference midway through the period and the Red Wings took advantage of the power play. Larkin scored in the slot off a feed from David Perron. Shayne Gostisbehere had the other assist.

The Wings nearly took the lead on another power play later in the period, as Alex DeBrincat’s shot banged off the goal post.

Veleno gave Detroit a 2-1 lead 2:20 into the second period. He scored on a wraparound with the puck barely crossing the goal line. Andrew Copp and Ben Chiarot picked up the assists.

The Ducks failed to convert on a five-on-three power play midway through the period.

Anaheim tied it at 3:55 of the third. Zegras fired a shot from the right circle off a pass from Cam Fowler. Jamie Drysdale also collected an assist.

Henrique hit the goal post during a short-handed situation with 11 minutes remaining.

Rasmussen’s goal was just his second in his last 11 games.

Detroit returns home to face Edmonton on Thursday. Anaheim begins a six-game road trip in Nashville on Tuesday.
