The Detroit Red Wings signed free agent forward Vladimir Tarasenko to a two-year, $9.5 million contract on Wednesday.

Tarasenko, 32, is coming off a Stanley Cup championship with the Florida Panthers, and he also won the Cup in 2019 with the St. Louis Blues.

In 76 games with the Ottawa Senators and Panthers this past season, Tarasenko recorded 23 goals and 32 assists. He played 19 games for Florida, tallying 14 points (six goals, eight assists).

A four-time All-Star, Tarasenko collected five goals and four assists in 24 playoff games as Florida went on to defeat the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final.

Tarasenko has amassed 293 goals and 336 assists in 751 career games with the Blues (2012-23), New York Rangers (2023), Senators and Panthers. St. Louis selected him with the 16th overall pick in the 2010 draft.

The Red Wings also traded forward Robby Fabbri and a 2025 conditional fourth-round draft pick to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for goaltender Gage Alexander.

Fabbri, 28, is entering the final season of a three-year, $12 million contract. He collected 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists) in 68 regular-season games with Detroit in 2023-24.

Alexander, 22, was a fifth-round selection of Anaheim in the 2021 draft and has not played in the NHL.
