Rasmus Andersson scored and added two assists as the Calgary Flames knocked off the host Edmonton Oilers 4-1 on Sunday night.

Anthony Mantha, Justin Kirkland and Connor Zary added goals for the Flames, who have won three straight games to open the season.

Goaltender Dan Vladar made 25 saves for his second win of the season and third career win in four games against the Oilers.

Jeff Skinner had the lone goal for the Oilers, who have dropped three straight to open a season for the first time since 2015-16. Stuart Skinner made 25 saves in taking his second loss of the season.

Skinner opened the scoring 1:16 into the first period, putting home the rebound of Mattias Ekholm’s point shot for his first as a member of the Oilers.

Corey Perry thought he had doubled Edmonton’s lead with 1:57 remaining in the first period, but the Flames successfully challenged for goaltender interference, negating the goal.

Edmonton had a second goal called back at 5:37 of the second period. Derek Ryan beat Vladar under the glove on a partial break, but the Flames successfully challenged for offside.

Andersson tied it 1-1 at 7:30 of the second period, beating Skinner glove-side from the slot for his second of the season.

Connor Brown nearly gave Edmonton a 2-1 lead 1:10 into the third, beating Vladar but putting his shot off the post.

Calgary took a 2-1 lead at 7:06 of the third period when Mantha put a backhand shot up and over Skinner for his second of the season.

Kirkland gave Calgary a two-goal cushion at 9:27, putting home the rebound off of Kevin Bahl’s point shot for his first career NHL goal.

Zary added an empty netter at 19:36 of the third.

Sunday was the first of three meetings between the Pacific Division rivals. Calgary hosts Edmonton on Nov. 3 before the teams conclude the season series on March 29 in Edmonton.
