Filip Forsberg scored 18 seconds into overtime and the Nashville Predators overcame blowing a two-goal lead to beat the visiting Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 on Wednesday night.

Juuse Saros made 37 saves, but the Predators couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead late in the second period. However, Forsberg pushed in the puck from behind Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson (19 saves) early in the extra session for his team-leading 15th goal and Nashville’s 11th win in 14 games.

Sean Couturier had a goal with an assist for Philadelphia, which had its four-game winning streak snapped even with a severe shot advantage over Nashville. Despite the result, the Flyers are 10-3-2 over their past 15 contests.

Down 2-1, Philadelphia tied it with 13:11 remaining in regulation. Travis Konecny won the puck over Gustav Nyquist in the neutral zone on a play that left the Predators wanting an interference penalty. He took it into the zone, where his shot was blocked by Dante Fabbro. Travis Sanheim then scored on a snap shot off the rebound.

Philadelphia had some good looks at Saros early in the opening period, but Nashville opened the scoring at 9:42 when a crossing Nyquist redirected Alexandre Carrier’s shot past Ersson. The Flyers had three power-play chances and outshot the Predators 15-7 in the first period, but they had nothing to show for it due to Saros’ solid play.

Saros came up big right out of the hopper in the second period, stopping the Flyers’ two-on-one chance less than a minute in. Then his Nashville teammates delivered more support. On a delayed penalty, fourth-liner Michael McCarron got the puck in front of the net and beat Ersson to give the hosts a 2-0 lead.

From there, Saros seemed to get even better while facing 14 shots in the second period. However, Philadelphia finally got the puck by Saros with 25 seconds remaining in the middle frame. Joel Farabee sent a cross-slot saucer pass for Couturier to convert for his seventh goal of the season.
