Paul Stastny scored twice to lead the visiting Winnipeg Jets past the St. Louis Blues 4-1 Saturday.
Kyle Connor had a goal and an assist and Nate Schmidt also scored for the Jets, who snapped their 0-4-2 winless streak.
Back-up goaltender Eric Comrie made 28 saves to earn the victory in his first start since Dec. 10. Connor Hellebuyck started Winnipeg’s previous 13 games.
Vladimir Tarasenko scored and Ville Husso made 20 saves for the Blues, who suffered just their second regulation loss in their last 17 games at home.
The Blues struck first with Tarasenko’s power-play goal 6:08 into the game. Brayden Schenn fed Tarasenko with a cross-ice pass into the left circle to earn his ninth point in his last six games.
Stastny tied the game with 5:37 left in the first period by capitalizing on a Blues mishap in their own zone. Jordan Kyrou collided with teammate Justin Faulk and left the puck for Stastny, who had a clean break-in on Husso.
The Jets outshot the Blues 8-2 in the second period and took a 2-1 lead.
After Cole Perfetti missed the net with a glorious chance from the slot, Connor connected at 7:57 of the second period off Pierre-Luc Dubois’ feed from the right wall.
Schmidt’s power-play slap shot from the high slot through heavy traffic pushed the Winnipeg lead to 3-1 with 7:25 left in the period.
Perfetti had an opportunity to push that lead to three goals in the third period, but he hit the right post with shot off a 2-on-1 rush.
Comrie protected Winnipeg’s two-goal lead by stopping Robert Thomas on a clean break-in with less than four minutes to play.
With Husso pulled for an extra attacker, Stastny iced the game with an empty-net goal with 2:35 left to play.
