Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk will miss the remainder of the regular season with a groin injury, the team confirmed Monday.

The Panthers placed Tkachuk, 27, on long-term injured reserve Sunday. He has missed four games since sustaining the injury during the 4 Nations Face-Off.

“Matthew’s going to be out for an extended period of time. We hope to get him back for the playoffs,” Panthers general manager Bill Zito told reporters Monday.

Tkachuk ranks second on the team with 57 points (22 goals, 35 assists) in 52 games this season.

A 2024 Stanley Cup champion with Florida, Tkachuk has totaled 636 points (240 goals, 396 assists) in 642 career games with the Calgary Flames and Panthers.
