The Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers re-signed forward Anton Lundell to a six-year extension on Wednesday.

Terms were not disclosed but multiple reports put the total value of the deal, which runs through the 2029-30 campaign, at $30 million ($5 million average annual value).

Lundell, 22, collected 35 points (13 goals, 22 assists) with a plus-19 rating in 78 games during the 2023-24 regular season. The Finland native added three goals and 14 assists in 24 games in the playoffs, including a team-high five assists in the Stanley Cup Final against Edmonton.

“Anton has matured into a dependable multirole center for our club, who seized his opportunity from his first day in North America,” general manager Bill Zito said. “His commitment to improvement and cerebral approach to the game earned him the profound respect of his teammates and coaches, and we are excited to see him continue to grow and succeed with the Panthers.”

A first-round pick (12th overall) by Florida in 2020, Lundell has recorded 112 points (43 goals, 69 assists) and a plus-53 rating through 216 games.

The Panthers also signed free agent defenseman Nate Schmidt to a one-year contract Wednesday for a reported $800,000.

Schmidt, 32, previously played for Panthers coach Paul Maurice with the Winnipeg Jets during the 2021-22 season.

“Nate is a veteran puck-moving defenseman who we expect to seamlessly integrate with our style of play,” Zito said.

Schmidt recorded two goals and 12 assists in 63 games with the Jets last season. He has 220 points (47 goals, 173 assists) in 661 games with the Washington Capitals (2013-17), Vegas Golden Knights (2017-20), Vancouver Canucks (2020-21) and Jets.
