The Florida Panthers acquired veteran forward Vladimir Tarasenko from the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday.

The Senators will retain 50 percent of his salary and will receive a conditional 2024 fourth-round pick and a 2025 third-rounder in exchange.

The NHL trade deadline is Friday at 3 p.m. ET.

“Vladimir is a highly skilled and experienced scoring winger who provides our club with another dynamic offensive option as we embark on the remainder of our season,” Panthers general manager Bill Zito said in a news release. “We are excited for him to join our team, and to compete for the Stanley Cup once again.”

Tarasenko, 32, has 41 points (17 goals, 24 assists) through 57 games this season, his first with Ottawa and his 12th in the NHL. He signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Senators last July.

A four-time All-Star and a 2019 Stanley Cup champion with St. Louis, Tarasenko has 615 points (287 goals, 328 assists) in 732 games with the Blues (2012-23), New York Rangers (2023) and Senators.

Multiple outlets reported last week that Tarasenko was willing to waive his no-trade clause to join a Stanley Cup contender.

The Panthers (43-16-4, 90 points) lead the Eastern Conference by three points over the Boston Bruins entering Wednesday’s action. The Senators (25-31-3, 53) are next to last in the East, one point ahead of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
