Owen Tippett scored twice while Travis Sanheim contributed a goal and two assists to lead the visiting Philadelphia Flyers to a 6-3 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

Cam Atkinson added a goal and an assist and Sean Couturier and Louie Belpedio also scored for the Flyers, who went into the clash having lost five of six games. Philadelphia goaltender Sam Ersson made 35 saves and Joel Farabee collected two assists.

Rookie Leo Carlsson collected his first career hat trick for the Ducks, who have lost two straight games, both at home, following a six-game winning streak. Goalie Lukas Dostal stopped 30 shots and Alex Killorn logged two assists.

Couturier’s third goal of the season opened the scoring at the 4:57 mark of the first period. Couturier pounced on a rebound to end a dominating shift.

Atkinson notched his seventh of the season eight minutes later when Sanheim’s point shot ricocheted off his body and into the net. Then Belpedio extended the edge to 3-0 at 2:33 of the second period. He took feed as he headed to the net and ripped a short-side offering for his second tally of the campaign.

Carlsson, the second overall pick in this year’s draft, put the Ducks on the board with a power-play marker at the 13:15 mark of the second period.

Sanheim restored Philadelphia’s three-goal edge with a power-play goal at 7:39 of the third period, a nifty tally collected by driving from the point all the way to the net and tucking home the puck.

Carlsson replied three minutes later, converting a one-timer on a two-on-one rush, but Tippett responded with a marker at 13:07 of the final frame, scoring on a breakaway.

Carlsson completed his hat trick with another power-play goal, a one-timer off a cross-ice pass, with 88 seconds left on the clock to net his sixth of the season in only nine games.

However, Tippett’s empty-net goal 27 seconds later, his fourth goal of the season, ended any Anaheim comeback hopes.
