Goaltender Stuart Skinner will start in net on Saturday as the Edmonton Oilers attempt to stave off elimination versus the visiting Vancouver Canucks in Game 6 of their Western Conference semifinal series.

Stuart allowed four goals on 15 shots in Edmonton’s 4-3 loss to Vancouver in Game 3 on Sunday. Calvin Pickard started the next two games for the Oilers, turning aside 19 shots in a 3-2 win before yielding three goals in a 3-2 setback in Game 5. The Canucks lead 3-2 in the best-of-seven series.

“I’m excited to get back in the net,” Skinner said Saturday. “I’m excited to get to do my job again.”

Skinner, 25, started the Oilers’ first eight playoff games with a 5-3 record, including 4-1 in the first-round series against the Los Angeles Kings. He has a 3.22 GAA and a save percentage of .877 in the postseason.

In the regular season, Skinner appeared in 59 games (57 starts) and had a 36-16-5 record, 2.62 GAA and a .905 save percentage.
