NHL: NHL fines Adam Fox, Alex Killorn $5K for slashing

New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Adam Killorn each received $5,000 fines for slashing penalties during Wednesday night’s game between the teams.

The fines, announced Thursday, are the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement.

Fox was fined for his slash of Tampa Bay’s Corey Perry and Killorn for his on Rangers goalie Igor Shesterkin. Both penalties in the second period of the Rangers’ 6-3 win over the visiting Lightning.

Both players were assessed minor penalties.

A total of 19 penalties were called in the game with a combined 70 penalty minutes. Four fights broke out during the contest.

Killorn had a goal and an assist for the Lightning while Fox finished with two assists.
