Kyle Connor got the winner in overtime as the Winnipeg Jets outlasted the host Edmonton Oilers 4-3 on Thursday.

Josh Morrissey had a goal and an assist for the Jets, who won for the fourth time in five games, and Cole Perfetti and Brandon Tanev also scored. Connor Hellebuyck made 21 saves to bounce back from a 6-2 loss at Vancouver on Tuesday.

The Oilers’ Jeff Skinner scored twice, while Zach Hyman also scored. Darnell Nurse registered two assists. Stuart Skinner saved 13 of 16 shots but was replaced by Calvin Pickard with 4:57 left in the third due to an injury. Pickard stopped three of the four shots he faced.

The Oilers (40-24-5, 85 points) opened the scoring at 5:28 of the first period when Jeff Skinner fired in a goal from long range.

Winnipeg (48-18-4, 100 points) responded with Perfetti evening the score at 1-1 after he collected a long rebound and scored with 6:21 remaining in the first stanza.

Jeff Skinner got his second goal of the game to make it 2-1 at 5:30 of the second when his whiffed shot slipped past Hellebuyck. The Jets challenged for goaltender interference, but the tally stood after a review.

Following the unsuccessful challenge, the Jets sent Nino Niederreiter to the box to serve the penalty. Upon his return, Niederreiter sent a saucer pass to Morrissey, who tipped the puck in to tie the game at 2-2 a 7:41 of the second period.

Edmonton’s Connor McDavid sustained a lower-body injury in the second period and did not return for the third.

The Jets took their first lead of the game when Tanev scored, cleaning up his own rebound 3:56 into the third period, making it 3-2.

The tight back-and-forth continued when Hyman buried the puck off Hellebuyck and into the net with 5:34 left in the game to restore the tie, this time at 3-3.

Connor put a wrist shot into the net 1:13 into the extra frame to seal the win.
