The Seattle Kraken agreed to a two-year, $6.95 million contract with forward Eeli Tolvanen on Friday.

Tolvanen, a restricted free agent, set career highs for assists (25) and points (41) last season in his first full campaign with the Kraken.

“Eeli has been an important part of our organization since joining the Kraken two seasons ago,” Seattle general manager Ron Francis said in a news release. “We’re excited to have him remain a part of our team and are looking forward to his continued growth as a player.”

Tolvanen has 32 goals and 36 assists in 129 games with the Kraken since being claimed off waivers from the Nashville Predators in December 2022. Overall, he has 57 goals and 62 assists in 264 NHL games with the Predators (2017-22) and Kraken.

Seattle also signed first-round pick Berkly Catton to a three-year, entry-level deal. Catton was the No. 8 overall pick in last month’s draft.

Catton, 18, scored 116 points (54 goals, 62 assists) in 68 games for Spokane of the Western Hockey League last season.
