Alex Iafallo had two goals and an assist, all in the third period, to help the Los Angeles Kings end a six-game winless streak with a 5-2 victory against the visiting Montreal Canadiens on Saturday afternoon.

Rasmus Kupari had a goal and an assist, Viktor Arvidsson and Arthur Kaliyev also scored, and Calvin Petersen made 26 saves for the Kings, who had not won since a 6-2 victory in their season-opener against the visiting Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 14.

Josh Anderson had a goal and an assist, Ben Chiarot also scored, and Jake Allen made 33 saves for the Canadiens, who had won two of three following a five-game losing streak to start their season.

Montreal scored first when Anderson put in a feed from Christian Dvorak at 18:22 of the first period.

It was the second straight game that the Canadiens took a 1-0 lead into the second period, but unlike their 4-0 win at the San Jose Sharks on Thursday, the Canadiens couldn’t widen their lead

Instead, the Kings scored two goals in the second and three more in the third.

Los Angeles forward Anze Kopitar brought the puck through the neutral zone and passed to Arvidsson coming down the right side with space. Arvidsson fired a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle that got past Allen to tie the score 1-1 at 4:31 of the second period.

The Kings scored their next two goals on power plays, both on wrist shots from the top of the left circle.

Kaliyev scored over Allen’s left shoulder at 12:19 of the second period to give the Kings a 2-1 lead. Kupari beat Allen cleanly to make it 3-1 at 1:53 of the third.

Iafallo followed with two more goals to put the game away. He made it 4-1 when he pushed one in at 5:37 and got loose for another shot from in close on a power play to make it 5-1 with 5:44 left.

Los Angeles went 3-for-5 with the man-advantage.

Chiarot made it 5-2 when he scored with 2:20 remaining.

Montreal concludes its four-game road trip Sunday afternoon against the Anaheim Ducks.
