Jordan Kyrou had a goal and two assists to lead the St. Louis Blues past the visiting Montreal Canadiens 6-3 Saturday.

Brayden Schenn also had a goal and two assists for the Blues, who won their second game in as many nights. Brandon Saad and Robert Thomas had a goal and an assist each and Alexey Toropchenko and Kasperi Kapanen also scored.

Joel Hofer made 30 saves to earn the victory.

Brendan Gallagher had a goal and an assist for the Canadiens, who lost their second straight game. Juraj Slafkovsky and Nick Suzuki also scored and Sam Montembeault made 29 saves in defeat.

Despite taking two early penalties, the Blues outshot the Canadiens 14-9 in the first period while taking a 2-1 lead.

They broke ahead 1-0 just 1:24 into the game. After Schenn misfired on a clean break-in, he retrieved the puck off the back wall and fed Kyrou cutting to the net.

Slafkovsky tied the game on a power play 2:37 later. Alex Newhook’s pass found Slafkovsky cutting in from the right circle to score his first goal of the season.

Thomas put the Blues back on top with 3:23 left in the first period. He took a pass from Justin Faulk, cut to his left into the slot and snapped a shot through Montembeault.

The Blues increased their lead to 3-1 with 6:57 left in the second period when Saad converted a 2-on-1 pass from Kyrou.

But less than two minutes later Gallagher cut the Montreal deficit to 3-2 by ripping a shot from the low slot through teammate Tanner Pearson’s screen.

With Montreal trying to tie the game on the power play early in the third period, Toropchenko scored a short-handed goal to push the Blues’ lead to 4-2.

Schenn made it 5-2 by cutting to the left post to convert Kyrou’s pass from the slot. Kapanen’s empty-net goal made it 6-2 and Suzuki’s late goal cut the margin to 6-3.
