Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury, coach Sheldon Keefe said Saturday.
Tavares didn’t take part in the morning skate and will miss Saturday night’s home game against the Anaheim Ducks.
The 33-year-old forward played Thursday in Toronto’s overtime win over the Philadelphia Flyers. He missed a 4-1 win against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday because of an illness.
In 51 games this season, Tavares has 40 points (15 goals, 25 assists) and is averaging 18:22 of ice time per game.
The No. 1 pick of the 2009 NHL Draft by the Islanders, Tavares has appeared in 1,080 games with New York (2009-18) and the Maple Leafs. He has 1,015 career points (442 goals, 573 points).
The Maple Leafs begin a four-game road trip on Monday in St. Louis.
