Jake Oettinger made 25 saves to lead the Dallas Stars to a 3-1 win against the visiting Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday evening.

Sam Steel and Logan Stankoven each had a goal and an assist, and Tyler Seguin also scored for the Stars, who ended a two-game skid.

Tyler Bertuzzi scored and Arvid Soderblom made 37 saves for the Blackhawks, who were playing the second game of a back-to-back set after losing to the visiting Detroit Red Wings 4-1 on Wednesday.

Steel scored at 11:06 of the first period to give the Stars a 1-0 lead.

Dallas defenseman Esa Lindell passed the puck behind the Chicago net to Stankoven, who kept possession. Stankoven drove into the right circle before making a short pass to Steel, who scored with a one-timer from the inside edge of the circle for his second goal of the season.

The Stars stretched the lead to 2-0 at 10:15 of the second period.

Dallas forward Nils Lundkvist brought the puck down the right side and into the Chicago zone.

Steel came in behind the play and retrieved the puck, skated above the goal line and centered a pass through the crease to Seguin, who scored shortside on the sharp angle for his sixth goal of the season.

The Blackhawks denied Oettinger his second shutout of the season when Bertuzzi scored at nine minutes of the third period to cut it to 2-1.

The Blackhawks were on the power play when Connor Bedard made a backdoor pass to Bertuzzi for the redirection.

Chicago pulled Soderblom with just over a minute remaining for the extra attacker and Stankoven scored into the empty net with 46 seconds left for a 3-1 lead.

Bedard drew an interference penalty in the second period for kicking the stick of Dallas defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin after he’d dropped it while defending Bedard.
