J.T. Miller scored during a delayed penalty at 1:36 of overtime to give the visiting Vancouver Canucks a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night.

Miller netted his 31st goal of the season on a one-timer from the right circle.

Elias Pettersson scored, Quinn Hughes had two assists and Thatcher Demko made 23 saves for the Pacific Division-leading Canucks, who had lost six of eight (2-5-1).

Trevor Moore scored and Cam Talbot made 29 saves for the Kings, who had won two in a row.

Moore notched his team-leading 24th goal of the season to give Los Angeles a 1-0 lead at 10:54 of the first period.

Kings forward Phillip Danault stole the puck from defenseman Filip Hronek at the side of the net and he quickly centered the puck through the slot to Moore for the tap-in goal.

Los Angeles outshot Vancouver 9-5 in the opening period.

The Kings killed back-to-back minor penalties by Quinton Byfield early in the second period, but Pettersson tied it 1-1 later in the middle frame with his 30th goal of the season.

Pettersson, who signed an eight-year, $92.8 million contract extension on Saturday, received a pass from Nils Hoglander just as he came off the bench. He brought the puck through the right circle and into the slot before scoring with a wrist shot while surrounded by four Los Angeles players at 16:36.

With his assist on the play, Hughes became the fourth NHL defenseman to amass at least 60 assists in three straight seasons, joining Paul Coffey, Bobby Orr and Ray Bourque.

Vancouver defenseman Carson Soucy returned after missing the previous 17 games with a broken hand. He saw 18:04 of ice time.

The Kings beat the Canucks 5-1 on Thursday in Vancouver. The teams will meet two more times in the next month.
