Ivan Provorov scored on a breakaway in overtime as the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the host Seattle Kraken 3-2 Wednesday night.

James van Riemsdyk tallied twice for Philadelphia, which extended its season-high points streak to six games (5-0-1). Martin Jones, filling in with goaltender Carter Hart, who played his junior hockey in nearby Everett, Wash., in the league’s COVID-19 protocol, made 34 saves for the win.

Yanni Gourde and Jeremy Lauzon scored for Seattle and Philipp Grubauer stopped 19 of 22 shots.

In overtime, Provorov took a long lead pass from Kevin Hayes at the Seattle blue line, fended off Seattle’s Marcus Johanssson and skated in on net, faking a forehander before going to his backhand and slipping the puck just inside the right post.

Lauzon twice put the puck in the net in the third period, but only the second one counted.

Lauzon appeared to put the Kraken ahead with a slap shot from the left point at 5:57 of the third, but Flyers interim coach Mike Yeo challenged the call. A video review determined Seattle’s Jaden Schwartz made contact with Jones just before the puck arrived.

Lauzon instead gave the Kraken a 2-1 lead at 14:32 of the period, snapping a wrist shot from the left faceoff dot over Jones’ blocker and into the upper left corner of the net.

The Flyers tied it just 15 seconds later, with Travis Sanheim sending a pass from the left point to a wide-open van Riemsdyk in the right faceoff circle and he beat Grubauer before the goalie could fully get across the crease.

The Flyers opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:44 of the first period, with van Riemsdyk beating Grubauer with a one-timer from the high slot as Travis Konecny set up a screen in front of the Seattle net.

The Kraken tied it on a power play of their own at 12:46. Carson Soucy made a cross-ice pass to Gourde at the top of the right faceoff circle, and he blasted a slap shot past Jones.
