Oliver Kylington came out of the penalty box to score the tiebreaking goal with 1:47 to play in regulation, and the visiting Calgary Flames erased a two-goal, third-period deficit by scoring three times in a 3:37 span to stun the Dallas Stars 4-3 on Tuesday night.

The Flames trailed 3-1 with less than 5 1/2 minutes remaining before tying the game by scoring twice in 37 seconds. Andrew Mangiapane made it 3-2 by scoring his 20th goal of the season — 19th on the road — with 5:24 to play, and Johnny Gaudreau tied it 3-3 with 4:47 to go.

Kylington took a holding penalty with 3:57 remaining. But the Flames killed off the power play, and Kylington came out of the penalty box, joined an odd-man rush and beat Dallas goalie Jake Oettinger (36 saves) to give the Flames their fourth win in five games.

Calgary’s Jacob Markstrom made 20 saves in two periods. Dan Vladar played the third period and made five saves to get the win.

Jason Robertson matched a career high with his 17th goal, and Joel Hanley and Jamie Benn also scored for the Stars, who had won five of six entering this contest between two teams battling for a Western Conference playoff spot.

Calgary took a 1-0 lead 1:54 into the game when Trevor Lewis scored his fourth of the season, burying a cross-slot pass from Adam Ruzicka.

But the Stars tied it 1-1 at 4:26 when Hanley’s shot from the blue line deflected off Calgary’s Brett Ritchie and fluttered past Markstrom. It was Hanley’s first NHL regular-season goal in his 100th career game.

Dallas made it 2-1 with at 18:12 when Robertson’s shot went through the legs of Calgary defenseman Rasmus Andersson and over Markstrom’s glove. The Stars took a 3-1 lead at 11:20 of the second period when Benn scored his 11th of the season by beating Markstrom with a backhander.
