The Anaheim Ducks acquired forward prospect Cutter Gauthier from the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night in exchange for defenseman Jamie Drysdale and a second-round draft pick in 2025.

Drysdale, 21, was the sixth overall pick of the 2020 NHL Draft. Gauthier, who turns 20 this month, was the fifth overall pick of the 2022 NHL Draft.

Daily Faceoff reported that Gauthier told Philadelphia he did not want to play for the Flyers.

Gauthier has tallied 23 points in 17 games for Boston College this season. Last week, he guided the U.S. under-20 national team to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships.

Drysdale has tallied 45 points (eight goals, 37 assists) in 123 NHL games over parts of four seasons for Anaheim. After debuting in 2020-21, he played 81 games in 2021-22 and put up four goals and 28 assists. He had just one goal and four assists in 10 games this season.
