The Anaheim Ducks have placed executive vice president and general manager Bob Murray on administrative leave as a firm investigates alleged unprofessional conduct.
“We recently became aware of accusations of improper professional conduct against Bob Murray,” read a statement from the Ducks on Tuesday. “After internal review, we enlisted Shephard Mullin to perform an independent investigation. Upon recommendation from their initial findings, we have decided to place Bob on administrative leave pending final results.”
Assistant GM and vice president of hockey operations Jeff Solomon will assume Murray’s role in the interim.
Murray, 66, has worked for Anaheim since 2005, when he was hired as the senior vice president of hockey operations. He previously played for the Chicago Blackhawks and briefly served as their general manager.
During the 2018-19 season, Murray fired Ducks coach Randy Carlyle and appointed himself as the interim coach for the remaining 26 games of the year.
