The New Jersey Devils signed college free agent forward Dylan Wendt to a two-year entry-level contract on Thursday.

Wendt, who spent the past three seasons at Western Michigan, will join New Jersey’s AHL affiliate in Utica on an amateur tryout deal for the rest of this season before his entry-level deal kicks in in 2024-25.

The 23-year-old had 44 points (23 goals, 21 assists) in 38 games in his final season at Western Michigan. He led Division I hockey with a 26.1 percent shooting percentage and ranked ninth in power-play goals (nine).

In 111 career games for the Broncos, Wendt put up 33 goals and 36 assists.
