Connor McDavid scored twice and added an assist as the Edmonton Oilers cruised to a 6-1 win over the visiting Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.
The victory gives the Oilers (45-23-4, 94 points) the season series sweep against the Ducks (24-46-4, 52 points) and extends Edmonton’s win streak to three games. The Oilers have won seven of their past 10.
Mattias Ekholm scored and had two assists, while Adam Henrique, Warren Foegele and Zach Hyman also scored for the Oilers. Hyman added an assist.
Leon Draisaitl, Vincent Desharnais and Evan Bouchard each had two assists. Draisaitl extended his point streak to seven games (five goals, seven assists). With the three points, McDavid extended his multipoint streak to seven games (four goals, 15 assists).
Calvin Pickard made 21 saves to improve to 3-0-0 against the Ducks this season.
Alex Killorn scored the lone goal for the Ducks, who have lost four straight and are 1-10-1 in their past 12 games. John Gibson stopped 31 shots.
Edmonton outshot Anaheim 13-8 and led 3-0 after 20 minutes.
Henrique opened the scoring 3:47 into the first period, scoring his own rebound for his 22nd of the season.
Edmonton then scored twice in 2:01 to open a three-goal lead.
McDavid doubled the Oilers’ lead with 5:45 to play in the opening frame, getting past Ducks defenseman Bo Groulx and beating Gibson short-side.
Ekholm made it 3-0 at 16:16, beating a screened Gibson with a slap shot from the point for his eighth of the season.
Edmonton scored a pair of unanswered goals in the middle period.
McDavid completed a give-and-go with Draisaitl and beat Gibson short side for his second of the game and 29th of the season at 9:28 of the middle frame.
Foegele made it 5-0, beating Gibson on a breakaway for his 17th of the season at 15:57 of the second period.
Hyman gave the Oilers a six-goal cushion at 7:06 of the third, one-timing a McDavid feed past Gibson for his 52nd of the season.
Oilers defenseman Brett Kulak blocked a shot in the game’s first minute and did not return Saturday.
