Carolina Hurricanes forward Andrei Svechnikov was activated off injured reserve and will make his season debut Friday against the San Jose Sharks in Raleigh, N.C., the team announced.

Svechnikov, 23, sustained a torn right ACL last season in a March 11 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. He underwent season-ending surgery three days later.

Svechnikov recorded 55 points (23 goals, 32 assists) in 64 games last season.

He has totaled 264 points (112 goals, 152 assists) and a plus-35 rating in 347 career games since being selected by the Hurricanes with the second overall pick of the 2018 NHL Draft.
