Martin Necas scored with 9.7 seconds left in overtime to propel the Carolina Hurricanes to a 3-2 victory over the visiting Seattle Kraken on Thursday night in Raleigh, N.C.

Necas finished with two goals and an assist as the Hurricanes snapped a three-game losing streak in their first home game in more than two weeks.

The Hurricanes forced overtime when Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored with 4:24 left in regulation at the end of Carolina’s swift passing sequence following a Seattle turnover.

Then, Necas snapped a shot from the point into the net as the overtime session wound down, with assists by Tony DeAngelo and Sebastian Aho.

Goalie Frederik Andersen made 24 saves for Carolina. Andersen was in action for the first time since Oct. 17.

Oliver Bjorkstrand and Devin Shore scored for the Kraken, who have yet to win consecutive games this season.

Kraken goalie Joey Daccord stopped 42 shots.

Home ice nearly wasn’t enough to buck a rough stretch for the Hurricanes, who played in Raleigh for the first time following a 2-4-0 road trip.

Kotkaniemi became the third Carolina player to reach the four-goal mark this season. Necas later matched him with his game-winner.

Bjorkstrand skated to the slot around Carolina players and launched a shot for the game’s first goal at 11:24 of the opening period. It marked his second goal of the season, both against the Hurricanes.

Shore crossed the blue line without resistance and skated in on Andersen, sliding the puck under the goalie’s pads for his first goal of the season at 14:52 of the first.

Daccord stopped Seth Jarvis’ breakaway attempt near the midway mark of the first period.

Necas put the Hurricanes on the board with 1:38 to play in the first following a couple of Kraken blunders while trying to get the puck out from behind the net.

Seattle led 2-1 through two periods, though the Hurricanes held a 31-15 advantage in shots on goal. Both teams failed to convert on a power-play chance in the second period.
