Cam Talbot made 24 saves en route to his first shutout of the season and Trevor Moore and Arthur Kaliyev each had a goal and an assist as the Los Angeles Kings remained perfect on the road with a 5-0 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night.

Anze Kopitar scored the 399th goal of his career, Quinton Byfield had three assists and Adrian Kempe and Blake Lizotte also scored for the Kings who improved to 6-0-0 on the road, the best road start to a season in franchise history.

It was the 29th career shutout for Talbot and his first with Los Angeles.

Ex-King Cal Petersen, making his first career start for Philadelphia, finished with 25 saves. The Flyers were playing the second game of a back-to-back that began with a 5-1 victory at Buffalo on Friday.

Los Angeles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with two goals in an 18-second span. Kempe got the first when he redirected Byfield’s bouncing pass from the left circle into the slot past Petersen’s glove side. Kopitar followed with his sixth goal of the season deflecting a Matt Roy shot past Petersen’s blocker side.

The Flyers had a chance to cut into the lead midway through the second period when Owen Tippett broke in free down the right wing but his wrist shot caromed off the left post.

The Kings then extended their lead to 3-0 at the 16:01 mark on a power-play goal by Kaliyev who slapped in a Byfield pass from the bottom of the right circle.

Moore made it 4-0 with 16 seconds left in the period when he whipped a wrist shot from the top of the right circle through the legs of Flyers defenseman Travis Sanheim and past Petersen’s blocker side.

The Kings extended the lead to 5-0 early in the third period on a one-timer from the top of the left circle by Lizotte.
